Base fee:
  • Students must attend an undergraduate education institution for an undergraduate degree or a graduate school full time. Please provide a copy of a valid student identification card to guarantee student rate.

Full conference participant registration includes all conference materials, events, meals and breaks. Single-day participant registration includes materials, events, meals and breaks for the day. Early bird registration will end Feb. 14. The last day for conference registration is to be determined.

RESERVATION GUARANTEE: All reservations must be guaranteed by a valid major credit card, which will be supplied at the time of reservation. Any guaranteed reservation not cancelled seven days prior to arrival will be subject to one-night room and tax cancellation fee. Any reservations that fail to arrive on the scheduled arrival date will be considered No-Shows and will be charged to the attendee’s credit card on file.

DEPOSIT: In order to confirm a room assignment a first night's non-refundable deposit will be required. Checks and major credit cards are acceptable to establish prepayment.

 Jonathan W. Yarbrough

Jonathan W. Yarbrough is a partner in the law firm of Constangy, Brooks, Smith & Prophete, LLP. The firm is dedicated to representing management exclusively in all aspects of the employment relationship. Mr. Yarbrough's practice includes providing advice and counsel to employers on compliance with the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and wage and hour laws, in addition to other federal and state employment laws.

He has successfully represented clients before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, and the United States and North Carolina departments of labor, among other federal and state agencies. Mr. Yarbrough is a frequent speaker on employment law topics and was a significant contributor to North Carolina Employment Law, a treatise on state employment law published by Lexis Law Publishing. He is admitted to practice before the state and federal courts in North Carolina, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Yarbrough holds degrees from Wake Forest University and the University of Louisville School of Law.


Robin Funsten

Community Conflict Solutions was launched in 2015 with the goal of creating satisfying lives through mutual understanding.

Robin Funsten provides Leadership Coaching, Consulting, Training and Group Problem-Solving to companies, individuals and communities. The goal of each engagement is to get to the roots of the issues they experience in order to develop long-lasting solutions for everyday problems.

Nobody likes to talk about conflict, but Robin makes it fun to dive deep into the difficult situations experienced by all organizations. Through experiential training, she demonstrates the necessary skills for effective team management using discussions, practice and kinesthetic experience. Through Individual and Team Coaching or Consulting, Robin guides her clients towards their highest leadership and team potentials. Robin holds a degree in Experiential Education and Psychology, and has extensive experience in Community & Youth Mediation, Teambuilding, and Individual Coaching. She has now been facilitating satisfying resolutions for over a decade.

Because of a deep personal commitment to youth and racial equity, Robin gives 40% of her company's profit supporting youth and racial-equity advocacy in Asheville, NC- including donations to 501c3 Youth-Serving organizations as well as her own projects and advocacy with local youth and organizations.


Desiree is a seasoned nonprofit consultant and facilitator. All of her presentations have a mix of thought provoking content presented with humor and wit. When she teaches she makes a point to connect with every person, and create a safe space for their growth.

She is known by staff, senior leadership, peers, and partners as being great at open, honest, and productive conversations. She is not afraid of addressing anything that gets in the way of great work. Her style is positive, approachable, engaging, service-oriented and audience-centered.
