NC-IPMA looks forward to your attendance at the 2019 annual conference: Ready? Set. Grow! The content of the conference will focus on updates on ever evolving HR issues, as well as where we are going as HR professionals, and how we successfully get there by:

Evaluating readiness and position – Ready?

  • What is your personal/career objective(s)?
  • What is the objective of your company and how can you help your company achieve that objective?)
  • Are you skilled or qualified to be a: business partner, change agent, leader, and HR expert? If not, what do you need to do to change that?

Getting into position – Set?

  • What do you need, or need to do to prepare to go, or get to where you are trying to go?
  • How do you get a seat at the table?
  • How do you gain the trust of management and have them value your expertise/opinion?

Assessing /Determining/Continuing Growth – Grow!

  • You’re busy, but how do you know if you’re actually making an impact?
  • Keeping up with the many changes of HR can be overwhelming, how do you keep up with the latest trends and practices when the demands of your job are so great?
  • How do you go from being a specialist (knows one area of HR) to a generalist (knows all areas)?

Conference Service Project

The 2019 NC-IPMA Conference Service Project is in support of the The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Clubs of Winston-Salem. Helping these young people grow in their knowledge goes along with our conference theme of Ready? Set. Grow!

You may choose what to donate by viewing our Amazon Wish List. On the wish list, you will see educational games and school supplies. The Boys and Girls Club has requested multiples of the same book(s) to help them get their book club started with the children.

In addition to the Amazon Wish List, the Club has the following requests on their website:

  • Food/Games: healthy snacks, arts and crafts, and board games
  • School Supplies: Loose leaf paper, spiral notebooks, 2" or 1" binders, subject dividers, pocket folders, pencils, pencil sharpeners, pens, pencil/pen case, erasers, crayons, child-size scissors, scientific calculator, tissues, glue sticks, white glue, pocket dictionary, ruler, flash cards.

We look forward to seeing many items brought to the conference, and we are excited about being able to assist the Boys and Girls Clubs in their endeavor to empower the children/youth of their community to get Ready? Set. Grow!
